       Welcome from the Chair
Dear Friends and Colleagues:

Welcome to the Department of Neurological Surgery at Emory University. The pages within this site are designed to briefly describe some of our activities.

Since its inception, the Department has been at the forefront of medical discovery and treatment in Neurosurgery. Our first Chairman, Dr. George T. Tindall, was a pioneer in Neurosurgery. Through his forward-thinking leadership, Dr. Tindall provided an excellent foundation upon which we now continue to build; a foundation that set standards of excellence to which we all remain committed.

Today, as we strive for the advancement of neurosurgical expertise through our involvement in vital research, premier education, expert clinical practice and dedication to the patient, our talented physicians and staff are dedicated to finding cures and providing the best care possible for patients.

Dr. Tindall's inspired visions have been responsible for many of our accomplishments. The Neurological Surgery Department at Emory University has made a commitment to continue in that vein and maintain those standards of excellence.

Sincerely,

Daniel L. Barrow, M.D.
MBNA-Bowman Professor and Chairman
