Fellowships: Interventional Neuroradiology
At Emory, we offer a three-year fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology, providing comprehensive training
in all aspects of the field. Approximately 250 neurovascular
interventions are perfomed annually, with an additional 30-50 spine interventions. The first year consists
of diagnostic neuroradiology consisting of clinical and research opportunities
in general diagnostic neuroradiology, pediatric neuroradiology, ENT, spine
and diagnostic neuroangiography. The second and third years are dedicated
to training and research in therapeutic techniques of interventional neuroradology,
including endovascular aneurysm embolization, tumor embolization, AVM treatment,
intracranial/cervical angioplasty and stenting, stroke thrombolysis and
vertebroplasty. There is also opportunity for bench research in the dedicated
laboratory with full digital angiography capability; both dedicated neuro biplane suites have 3D capability.
Radiologists who are fellow graduates are eligible for neuroradiology CAQ's and have gone on
to practice in both academic and private settings.
Facilities at Emory include seven high field MRI units, including
DWI, PWI, fMRI and MR spectroscopy, seven CT scanners including CTA and
CT perfusion capabilities and two biplane neuroangiographic suites. The
second bilplane suite is a new state-of-the-art Philips Allura digital biplane
room with three-dimensional angiography.
Qualified applicants will have completed their residency
and be board eligible/certified prior to beginning the fellowship. If you are
