Publications and Meetings
Back to Program Structure
All residents
are expected to participate in scholarly pursuits, including written
and oral presentations for meetings, peer- reviewed journals, and
textbooks. Any abstract or manuscript submitted to a meeting or journal
must be sponsored by a full time faculty member and reviewed prior
to submission.
If a paper or abstract is accepted for a meeting, the resident and
sponsoring faculty member are expected to submit that work for publication.
If an abstract or paper is accepted at an approved meeting, the Department
of Neurological Surgery will consider, within budgetary limits, covering
the expenses of the meeting. Coverage responsibilities, however, remain
the responsibility of the resident. No resident may attend the meeting
on this basis unless all other submitted works that have been accepted
have already been submitted for publication.
The Chief Residents may attend one meeting of their choice with expenses
paid.
